This document provides three workshop formats based on the complete HARNESS Curriculum. Each format delivers core content from "Fearless, Aware, and Protected" with time-appropriate activities and YOUR MATCH framework integration.

Three Formats:

All formats use content directly from the 12-chapter curriculum and emphasize the MATCH Framework.

90-Minute Workshop: The Essentials

High-level overview of safER sex mindset, communication, and the MATCH framework

Workshop Goals

  • Introduce shift from fear-based to freedom-based sexual health
  • Teach basic safER sex communication skills
  • Introduce the MATCH Framework (M+A+T+C+H)
  • Provide actionable next steps

40-55 min Barriers & Tools Overview
(Ch 3-5 highlights)
• Quick condom DO/DON'T review
• Lube types and compatibility (water, silicone, oil)
• Golden Rule: NEVER oil with latex
• Show-and-tell: Pass around samples (condoms, dental dams, lube)
55-75 min Introducing the MATCH Framework
(Ch 12)
• Explain each letter:
   M = Medications (PrEP, PEP, ART, Doxy-PEP)
   A = Awareness (status, testing)
   T = Tools (condoms, dams, lube)
   C = Communication (consent, boundaries)
   H = Habits (testing routine, self-care)

75-85 min Q&A & Resources • Open questions
• Distribute resource handouts (local testing, PrEP providers)

Facilitator Tips for 90-Minute Format

  • Keep it high-level: You're planting seeds, not teaching everything
  • Prioritize MATCH: This framework ties everything together
  • Use visuals: Show the MATCH letters large, pass around tools
  • End with resources: Make sure everyone leaves with next steps

Half-Day Workshop (4 Hours)

Core concepts across all 5 parts with hands-on activities

  • Practice skills (condom use, communication, planning)
  • Explore medical shields (PrEP, PEP, U=U)
  • Introduce harm reduction mindset

Facilitator Tips for Half-Day Format

  • Pace carefully: You have MORE time than 90-min but less than full-day
  • Hands-on is key: Condom practice, role-plays, worksheets

  • End with action: Everyone leaves with their MATCH plan started

Full-Day Workshop (7 Hours)
